Bermuda Triangle- Haiku Poem.

 Bermuda Triangle - Haiku Poem

WALT: write a haiku poem

To finish our topic on ‘A World of Difference’ we are going to write a Haiku poem. A Haiku poem is a type of Japanese poem with only 3 lines. Each line has a number of syllables. Syllables are the beats that make up a word. For example, holiday has 3 syllables [Hol-i-day].

Line 1: 5 syllables

Line 2: 7 syllables

Line 3: 5 syllables

Miss West’s example about summer:

Summer and the sun

Friends having fun at the beach

Swimming in the sea.

Can you count out the syllables in each line??

Plan:

Words to describe the bermuda triangle

Mysterious, ...

Line 1 (5 syllables/beats)

Line 2 (7 syllables/beats)

Line 3 (5 syllables/beats)

Write your finished poem out here:

Challenge: Write more than 1 stanza. Each stanza is like 1 haiku poem.
